The jang tan-do (long daggers in English, sai in Japanese)
was a Korean farm tool used to help plant crops. The "blade" of the
jang tan-do was dragged through the soil creating a furrow in
which seeds were placed and then covered with soil. This detailed program
features how to execute and apply the movements of the jang tan-do;
flipping, blocking, and detailed manipulation. Grandmaster Benko
will show you the applications of each movement and talk you through each
technique as he narrates this unique presentation. The "flashing" blades
of the jang tan-do are used to block and counter a wide variety of
attacks from other weapons.
